What position(s) would you like to work?
House Manager
- House Managers act as the team leader at each venue, coordinating with the Venue Technicians and Artists to insure all shows begin on time. They work closely with the Box Office and Ushers to manage crowds, sell Fringe Buttons, and answer patrons' questions. They should feel comfortable working with money, and enjoy working with the public.
Box office
- Cashiers sell tickets and buttons at each venue. They will be asked to maintain attendance counts, and complete ticket sales information for each show. They should be comfortable with counting and handling cash, multi-tasking, and working in a fast-paced environment.
Usher
- Ushers scan tickets, distribute programs, and ensure all patrons have Fringe buttons as they enter the theatre. Ushers may be asked to tidy up lobby and theatre spaces between performances, and assist the House Manager with crowd control. This role has the most interaction with our patrons.
Runner
- Super-star, versatile volunteers! Runners get a chance to do a little of everything at the Fringe, including deliver programs or tickets, provide additional crowd control, or cover a shift. Runners are usually stationed at Volunteer Check-in, to be on-call during their shift (cell phone or pager and vehicle a must).
Concessions/Bartending
- Volunteers handle food and/or drink sales at Fringe Central. They must have a liquor card to serve alcohol. If interested in obtaining a liquor permit please review the link below. Permit fees are not covered by the KC Fringe Festival:

Security
- Security Volunteers escort Cashiers to their posts. They are sometimes needed to partner with House Managers to watch over late night show venues or help with uncomfortable situations. Security is usually stationed at various venues, but will be on-call during their shift (cell phone or pager and vehicle a must).
Security question:
Please answer the following question to verify that this is a human submission and not an annoying 'form-bot':
Is water wet or dry?
