EcoFringe is the conscious, alternative, sustainable pulse of the Kansas City Fringe Festival. The driving beat unites the Fringe art we love with the Fringe ways of living. The focus for the first year is behind-the-scenes efforts to make the festival more sustainable by being a zero landfill event. Eco- Fringe aims to be engaging, entertaining, active and interesting; full of great ideas for greening your life, community and the world.
Clean H2O and access to it is one of the most important issues we will face in our lifetime. EcoFringe is bringing awareness to this by being a plastic water bottle free event! We will be providing FREE filtered water from Brookfield's Great Water to refill your reusable water bottle.
Know your farmer, know your food! Eating locally is one of the single greatest steps we each can take to support our local economy and reduce the energy that goes into our food. EcoFringe invites community supported agriculture, farmers, and gardeners to share their wisdom, produce and experience.
To have a Zero Landfill Fringe Festival there will be recycling for aluminum, plastic, paper, glass and compost bins for all organic matter - including food, all beer, wine and coffee cups, even the paper towels in the venue restrooms will be composted with the help of Missouri Organics.
We need some folks who are excited to get a little dirty to clean up the Fringe and save the planet! Come play with the recycling and compost, or help distribute water to each of Fringe's 17 venues. We'd love to find some financial and product sponsors to help nuture EcoFringe and help it grow.
